The Global Coalition for Animal Welfare held its 2025 in-person All Members’ Meeting in Edinburgh on 8–9 July, bringing together representatives from across our membership for two days of dynamic discussion, collaboration, and planning for the future.
Hosted in partnership with the University of Edinburgh and Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC), the meeting featured strategic planning around GCAW’s 2025–2027 priorities and working group activities, and interactive workshop sessions on stakeholder engagement.
A key focus was the opportunity to engage with academic institutions, ensuring GCAW’s work is both informed by the latest science and able to shape future research based on real-world challenges. Highlights included presentations from leading researchers in animal welfare and food systems, covering poultry, pig, dairy cow, fish and crustacean welfare.
The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to connect face-to-face, build stronger relationships, and align on shared priorities. GCAW extends sincere thanks to all participants – and to our academic hosts – for making the event a resounding success.
